First of all, congratulations for taking a step to a better life- a better you. It takes courage, awareness and acceptance to tell ourselves, “I want to become happier than I am right now.” Most people are quick to throw up the defense of “I am happy! Why wouldn’t I be?”
The happiness seminar that Dr. K is about to present to you isn’t going to make you happier than you are right now by the time you leave the class. The presentation isn’t going to give you a step by step guide on how to become happier in 10 days. What the presentation will give you are the tools to make changes to your life, to your awareness, to your perceptions that will ultimately make you a happier person.
There is one piece of advice I have for you before jumping into the class; be open. Be open with your mind, body and spirit. It is the only way that you will truly see change. As Dr. K speaks and gives examples of happiness or ways to become happier, reflect on them. See how these things relate to you and your life. By doing this you are already one step closer. Your awareness to what is going on in your life, what your behavior and mood is and how the things around you impact them will assist you in making that ultimate change to a better you.
The Happiness Seminar saved me. I was by no means an extremely unhappy person. I love life, love to laugh, love to spend time with friends, and love to be around my family. But there was something that I was holding onto that I thought that I had let go of and because of that I was never truly the happiest that I could be. Not only that, I was missing out on the great things in my life around me. A. We do not have a specific dress code for these workshops. We encourage you to wear comfortable street clothes or yoga clothes for all of the sessions. We encourage all of our participants to dress in layers. As you calm down, your heart rate slows down in relaxation, you may find yourself feeling cool. It is best to bring lots of layers to ensure you don't get cold.
