20 Hour Challenge: Jump Start Meditation Practice

I often have students who enjoy my meditation classes, but do not follow through on the regular daily practice that gives them the benefits of relaxation, cleansing and strengthening their minds. Are you one of them?

I always look for new techniques to help my students set up a habit of regular meditation. Josh Kaufman, Author of The First 20 Hours: How to Learn Anything Fast! proposes that 20 hours of focused learning is enough to master the basics of any skills – yoga, computer programming, a foreign language. From personal experience, I fully agree. I have learned basics of Spanish and German in a month. I walked over a fire pit (What self-respecting meditation teacher hasn’t done that one?) with just a few hours of instruction. I did my first 5k with less than 4 weeks of training.

I have a special offer and challenge to you. Aim to get 20 hours of meditation exercises in the next one month. That is two meditation classes per week – 16 hours + 4 hours of practice – about 15-20 mins x 4-5 times a week! Very doable! Guess what awaits you in the end of the 20 hours.
